Calligrapher Aziz is the short name of the calligrapher and painter Abdulaziz Al-Najjar, a professional Egyptian artist and calligrapher in Dubai, currently residing in the United Arab Emirates since 2014.

He was born in Egypt in 1988, and has had a passion for Arabic calligraphy since childhood—a talent that was evident to those around him from an early age.

His journey with Arabic calligraphy began in 1994, when he started imitating and writing Arabic letters from textbooks in first grade, even though he couldn’t read at the time.

For Aziz, Arabic calligraphy wasn’t just a profession for profit; it was a deep connection and a love story between him and the Arabic letters that captured his mind and heart.

In 1997, while in fourth grade, he was tasked by the school administration to execute school boards and write educational content for teachers, thanks to his visible skill and dedication. His work amazed his classmates and teachers and encouraged him to continue improving his craft.

In 2002, he began formal studies in Arabic calligraphy at the Academy and School for Improving Arabic Calligraphy in Cairo (Bab al-Louq), under the mentorship of renowned masters such as Khedr El-Borsa’idi, Mohamed Hammam, and Mohamed Haddad.

Aziz worked as a calligrapher and painter between 2001 and 2013, producing advertising signs for shops and businesses, and contributing to multiple election campaigns across Egypt for the People’s Assembly, Shura Council, and local councils.

During his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Graphic Department, Alexandria University, he refined his knowledge of Arabic calligraphy and drawing, graduating in 2012.

In 2014, Aziz moved to the UAE and established himself as a calligrapher in Dubai, offering high-end calligraphy services including writing, engraving, and carving names on perfumes, as well as logo customization for luxury brands such as Gucci, Chanel, Cartier, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Carolina Herrera, Hermès, Guerlain, Amouage, Miu Miu, Bulgari, Yves Saint Laurent, Kilian, Van Cleef & Arpels, and many others.

He collaborated with leading retail spaces like Bloomingdale’s, Harvey Nichols, Galleria Mall, Yas Mall in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and more, offering personalized calligraphy experiences.

Aziz has participated in numerous official and private events, providing live calligraphy for names, messages, and greeting cards—particularly during key occasions such as UAE National Day, Ramadan, Eid, private dinners, and more.

He has also taken part in Arabic calligraphy competitions across the UAE and has original calligraphy artworks collected in various countries including Russia, Brazil, the UK, France, Turkey, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Libya, and Kuwait.

Recognized as a creative calligrapher in Dubai, Aziz is known for designing unique logos for individuals and companies, integrating Arabic calligraphy to express brand identity with elegance and depth.

He continues to promote Arabic calligraphy as one of the richest and most sophisticated forms of Arab heritage through lectures, workshops, and training courses across the UAE.

Aziz is also distinguished by his ability to write in both Arabic and English with high artistic quality.
